Masahiko Imanishi

Born in Tachikui,Tamba city, Hyogo in 1971. After graduating from high school, Masahiko Imanishi went on to study accounting at a vocational school, but dropped out to pursue his family business in ceramics and entered the Kyoto Prefectural Ceramists' Technical Institute. After learning the basics of ceramic making he learned glazing at Kyoto Municipal Institute of Industrial Research. Once he graduating he became an apprentice to Akira Okamoto, in Uji city in Kyoto. After five years of training, he came back to Tamba and started porcelain making. In 2001 he built his own kiln in Aino, Mita city and in 2010 he built Miyanokita-gama kiln in Tamba Tatei.
