Hajime Kimura
Ichiyougama
Born in Ibe, Bizen city in1976 as the second son of Kimura Kozo, head of the bizen ware Ichiyou kiln. The Ichiyou kiln inherited the traditions of the Kimura family, one of the six most ancient bizen ware making families since the Muromachi period. After graduating from a vocational fine-arts graduate course in Osaka in 1997, Kimura Hajime started making ceramics under his father. He has since exhibited at numerous fairs and festivals including the Setouchi Seikatsu Kougei Festival (2012, 2014), the 29th Craft Fair in Matsumoto (2013), and Field of Craft Kurashiki (2013-2017). In 2016 he received the OKAYAMA AWARD.
