Gafu Ito

Born in Tokoname City, Aichi in 1988. Gafu Ito graduated from the ceramics department of Tokoname High School. During his industrial crafts studies at Nagoya Zokei University, he trained in the art of teapot making under Fugetsu Murakoshi (who himself trained under living national treasure Yamada Jyozan the third). In 2012 he became independent and in 2016, he held his exhibition "Gafu Ito: The Teapot Obsessive" at the Gallery Utsuwa Note in Kawagoe city, Saitama.
